Merlino’s Freeze

Merlino’s Freeze Sacramento’s favorite at the River Cats’ games.

Unique to Sacramento this brand of frozen treat created by Bauldie Merlino  was born in 1946. Quickly it became a favorite at the California State Fair and later several stands appeared through out the area.  This is a local favorite for many Sacramentans and is served in selected locations and at the California State Fair.

Original recipe calls for “freshly squeezed orange juice,  water and a spoonful of sugar”.  The treat evolved and now you can have a great number of flavors.  Check it out, and experience Ronald Reagan’s favorite State Fair treat!
